Nestled atop the hills of Mossel Bay, Cape Saint Blaize exudes a timeless charm, steeped in the rich history of its origins as one of the premium distilleries in the region. Standing tall like a beacon, it has served as a guiding light for ships navigating the waters of Mossel Bay since its establishment. The barn, once a flag pole signaling sage passage into the bay, now stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Cape Saint Blaize. 

Resisting the easy road of mass production, Cape Saint Blaize pays homage to the artisanal craft of distillation. Every bottle, meticulously crafted by hand, is a symbol of the heritage and elegance that defines their products. From the careful selection of ingredients to the difficult process of bottling and labeling, each step reflects its dedication to quality and tradition.

The Challenge

When Cape Saint Blaize approached us for a freestanding unit to showcase their superior gin, we knew we had to capture the essence of their brand, elegance, heritage, and quality. The challenge lay in designing a unit that not only emphasised  the unique shape of their bottles but also exuded the sophistication synonymous with Cape Saint Blaize. 

Crafting the Solution

Our solution was more than just a freestanding display unit, it was a tribute to the craftsmanship and tradition that define Cape Saint Blaize. 

Seamlessly blending aesthetic appeal with practicality, we conceived a display that not only highlighted the exquisite bottle designs but also facilitated  stockholding, enabling patrons to delve into the variety of Cape Saint Blaize gin selections.

Central to our design ethos was the selection of material—Xanita board. Characterized by its lightweight yet robust nature, it served as the ideal medium to realize our vision. The ability to directly print on the board added to the cost effectiveness of the display. While the superb printability of Xanita board ensured precise replication of the brand’s hues and insignia on the display. 

The Result

The completed display surpassed all expectations, boasting a product glorifier poised atop its structure and ingeniously incorporating product storage within a bottle-shaped cavity. Embodying the essence of the Cape Saint Blaize brand, it combined aesthetic appeal with essential practicality and functionality, serving as a pinnacle of design sophistication befitting a premium product.

In an age of mass production and constant change, Cape Saint Blaize embraces old school craftsmanship and tradition, and marries them with modern sophisticated elegance. Our collaboration was not just study in design, but a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and the spirit of Mossel Bay.
